BIG TYRES
Afternoon Guys

I've seen these wheels and really like them but has anyone fitted them and if so what mods needed doing? They will go on my 90 and all the ad says is a 2" lift is needed, I don't off road so no issues there and before anyone says anything I like them for the look. If alls good I'll have a set of 5 Sawtooths with Discoverer STT 265s for sale.

Fekete had the same size fitted and they look great. Remember you need to add the cost of the 2" lift which if done correctly with castor correction of 3 degrees etc. will cost you a further ballpark £600. Could undoubtedly be done cheaper as there are many differing opinions regarding a lift. Speak to Gwyn Lewis to find out exactly what you need.

32.5 X 11.5 will fit without a lift and be ok as you don't offroad as mentioned on the thread below. Thumbs Up

there are plenty people on here running 33's without a lift.

255/85/16 and 285/75/15 and 305/70/16 are all approx 33 inches high and I've run all 3 on a 110 without a lift.

A good way of increasing transmission loads, bearing strain, road noise and fuel consumption and in my opinion ruin the look of your vehicle. Leave the Tonka look to the Hi-Lux Surf wannabees? 2008 RS4 gone, 123d M Sport, and a Puma 90 XS..

you will have a crappy turning circle as well unless you fit spacers of big offset wheels.

Red-hot does make a valid point about the additional stresses on the vehicle.

But I think they will look awesome!!

Can't wait to see them fitted My confidence has been writing cheques that my abilities can't cash for years.

Standard wheels are 32" tall. 33"s fit no bother without a lift. Small enough increase as well. After having run a few different wheel sizes I think 33 are best. At least on a TD5.

If you fit a set of 10" -32mm offset rims your turning circle will be unaffected. You will need wider arches tho.

Maybe I'm a wannabe but I like the look of them Smile

^^This!

You're not going to be driving off road, what's the point of a Defender with MTs?

If I was fitting 33" tyres, I'd put on 255/85R16, they look "right" IMO:

That's BFG MTs on my 110.

They're the narrowest 33" tyres you can easily get (what would be even better is 9.00 Michelin XZLs, but they're rare and expensive). This is a 1 ton Land Rover from the LRO show on 9.00R16 Michelin XS tyres. It is the only Land Rover at the show I actually have a full picture of because it was my favourite:

You may be getting an impression of the sort of Land Rover that does it for me!

Both look good Cupboard, thanks for the advice but it's more the visual appearance that I'm after. Life is one big adventure, that's why we have the vehicle for the journey.

Doubtful. Will likely need to mod the bodywork a little. If you going off road then I'd be concerned about the standard drivetrain too.
