United Kingdom 2013 Defender 110 Puma 2.2 XS DCPU Keswick Green
Tata Sumo
"The Sumo utility vehicle from Tata Motors had been a popular choice in its segment. The vehicle indeed is a hot favorite in the commercial segment. As per reports from sources, Tata Motors has been working on developing the next-gen Sumo that is likely to be up on sale sometime in 2018. The company is likely to discontinue the existing model by 2017.

The next-gen Tata Sumo is expected to be based on an all-new platform and may receive some inputs from the Land Rover's technology. The vehicle is likely to be lighter in weight and feature a smaller engine with similar power output. The new trim shall be designed and developed to meet the new crash-test norms.

More details on the tech specs and pricing aspect is unknown for now. But based on anticipation the vehicle is expected to be offered at a price tag of about Rs 6.0 – 9.0 Lakhs and is likely to be offered as a replacement to Movus. With better fuel efficiency figures and modern technology, the vehicle is expected to be a grand success post launch."

So if the new Defender disappoints in any aspect from aesthetics, performance through to price, then you may have an alternative available from the same company.

You may have to squint a bit, but there might be a defender in there:

"... but there might be a defender in there". Nah, the panels all line up properly. That won't do. That's not a dent, it's a rivet. That's not a dent, it's a rivet. That's not ... oh! That is a dent!
