Series 1 club on Salisbury plain

Evening,

For the second time, the Wiltshire branch of the series 1 club have held the popular "Wiltshire Trundle"

A great day out driving over Salisbury plain.
We meet up at a local pub, have a coffee, and a bacon roll, then hit the plain for a full day of off road fun!
We had 11 members this year, and split into two groups.
One goes one way, the other goes the other way, meet in the middle for lunch, then carry on to a final meet point at the end of the day.

This years lunch point was a small village church fete, where we were given centre stage for a display of S1s
The look on everyone's faces as 11 very grubby series 1s came chugging through the fete was priceless!

But we were all warmly welcomed

Bumped in to a few tracked vehicles along the way!
A full on day was had by all, from 9am till 6pm, and covered well over 50 miles off road!

To be out with 11 Land Rovers all over the age of 60, and not one problem between us all! Is testament to how great these little Land Rovers are.
Most are standard, 2 were 2 1/4, one 300Tdi, and one V8.

Hello from Aus, ...Lovely images & lovely vehicles.
"Church Fete"?! Lol. My dad was a C. Of E. Vicar, and before we emigrated to Aus, he had a Country Parish, Vowchurch & Turnastone, not far from Hereford, where He ran Fetes every year. It was always a "special" event for the village, & the Parish.

Pitty you missed it TJ, it's always a great day out!
Maybe next year?

Pickles, the church fete was a really nice touch, they were so pleased we made an appearance.
These little events are great, it's amazing how many people come up and tell you about family members who had owned one years ago, great atmosphere too!

Always good to have a beer tent on route......
