Hi, that looks great. Can we have details on the switch plinth with the hazards rather than the circular dial cut out?
Is it the new Twisted version... cost... ease of fitting? |

Hi Yes, it's the Twisted dash. Was just shy of £600 with VAT and delivery which to be honest is an obscene amount of money.
Quality as you would expect is very good and it includes pre-made wiring harness to extend the hazard switch. Fitting is relatively simple but obviously you don't want to get the dash cutting wrong  personally I made a template to ensure a perfect fit and also duct taped the area to prevent any accidents from a slipped tool. I cut it our with a dremel.
Probably the most time consuming part of the job is cutting the old heater/fan decal off the back of your old dash. It's heat welded and so you need to carefully cut away with a sharp knife and a steady hand. |

As many have said on the forum the sound deadening is probably the most important part of the upgrade, makes a huge difference to cabin noise and audio quality. The 6.5" speakers in the picture above kick out a decent level of base when combined with the Alpine sub on the back of the cubby box. Without the full sound deadening fitted I reckon they'd sound like a set of false teeth in a tin can  |

You may have done this already but you could try to cross the rear 6.5 speakers over to high pass above 80hz, and the sub to low pass below 80hz. use a steep ish crossover slope (12db/octave) on both crossovers, then play something bassy. Whilst it's playing, switch the sub's phase back and forth (either on HU or on bass remote), and settle on whatever phase sounds most bassy. You can then fine tune that frequency area using your equalizer to push or cut the octaves/bands - whatever sounds right.
Once you get a nice FR in this area you can free up the 4" speakers up front to only play above say 100 or 125 hz. This gives them an easier life and you can push them harder, using the amp's gain/HU preout voltage or just the front channels settings on the HU. This will keep your stage forward but provide a fuller range. Good luck and have fun with it. |

I'd recommend the crossovers too. Mine is all Focal speakers and amp, this will go as loud as you want and remain absolutely crystal clear with a total of 2 6x9's, 2 tweeters and a sub.

My intention is to fit an amp to drive the rears. The amp (which I haven't fitted yet) has onboard crossovers. The control I have is: Cross Over: LPF - FLAT - HPF - With a 20hz to 4kh adjustment on both LPF and HPF Bass Boost: 0, 3, 6 db My intention was to fit and then adjust to suit my ears. Any advantage to off board crossovers? |

It's easier to use the high/low pass settings on the head unit, as you can fiddle with these whilst sat in the car. The passive crossovers supplied with component sets will have some adjustment (if they're good quality) but this may just be limited to attenuating the tweeters a bit. Amp crossovers will be fine though, if it's accessible enough.
You are amping the front speakers too, aren't you? Only amping the rears will sound weird. Might as well get a 4 channel and amp all 4 with the same unit. |

Yes, have got a 4ch amp. So will do the fronts too.
Does anyone know if their is a crossover sat between the front speakers and the tweeter as standard? |

It's the Twisted one. Unlike all the others on the market it comes as a single piece including the top vents.
They still don't have it listed on their website so you have to call to order. |

That's the bad bit.....
Just shy of £600 which without doubt is an obscene amount of money for what it is but I guess they're recouping their tooling costs etc. |
