Cleaning chassis internally question.
Morning all. Looking to clean thoroughly the inside of my defender 90 chassis and am wondering is it possible to clean the inside from front to back using a drain jetting attachment on a pressure washer/steam cleaner.
Is the chassis hollow all the way through or are there braces/internal obstructions that would prevent me doing this ?
Just think that if possible this would be a more thorough job than spraying the landrover in through the various holes along the chassis, has anyone else done this ?
Cheers Chris.

That's exactly what I do with mine, there are a few obstructions along the way, mostly reinforcing tubes going across at important mounting points, but pulling the hose back a couple of inches while twisting it will normally clear most of them.

I find it easiest to go in through the large hole at the back just in front of the rear crossmember, that will get probably up to the centre crossmember, then from just behind the bulkhead outrigger both forwards and back towards the rear.

I got quite a fair bit of mud and small stones out of mine, I guess it depends where you've been though.

tried doing this with mine a couple of years ago. didnt work. the jet wash line got caught up about 3 foot into the chassis. again going from the front back. i was using a nilfisk pressure washer and their drain rodding attachment.

I use the Karcher one similar to this -

The "business end" is only about 20mm across and will get to most places inside the chassis.
