Probably one or more elements on the glass has worn away, or broke?
The high level brake light cover can rub through.

Try testing at the contacts on the window with a multimeter to find the break.
You can get heated screen repair paint to fill in the gap.

Quite a common problem on the Defender I'm afraid.

Sorry, just noticed, you have no power!
Try looking or testing wires where they pass through the loom from body to door.
You may have a broken wire somewhere? 80" 80" 86" 88" 90"

Wanted, Forward Control Anything considered.

I have only one element working on mine. Are new screens available? From my series experience I know swapping the glass is easy but does the high level brake light come off? 1999 Td5 110 CSW

Check the wiring inside the flexible rubber which leads from the rear body to the door. Often fatigue and snap. 02' 110 TD5 Double Cab Rebuild Thread
