The lens only isn't replaceable on your model, you'll need the complete lamp unit, only a few quid.
Earlier 90/110 had a removeable lens, later models don't. HTH  Guns and Landrovers .... anything else is irrelevant.Last edited by Dave-H on 28th Jun 2015 9:37pm. Edited 1 time in total |

I've just ordered a new pair for my 90, as the old ones have gone very dull and cloudy looking due to UV exposure -

Avoid the really cheap pattern lamps, hunt out OEM (Perei) replacements.
The cheap ones are about £3 each, the OEM £7.  1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top

A bit of mild abrasive such as T Cut, Farecla G3, toothpaste, Brasso etc and a bit of elbow grease will usually restore dulled plastic. Steve.

^ Agreed^ - in general and certainly worth a try, trouble is though, red coloured plastic often becomes "sun bleached" with age and exposure, so while you may restore the surface finish, the colour will very likely still remain faded, even pink in appearance.
Anyway, my new cheapo ones arrived this morning and are fitted, they look a lot better than the old ones and fit properly |

If you've got an LED fixture inside it then it's illegal.

I made this mistake on my 300tdi when I assumed it would be the same as the 200tdi I used to own. Luckily I managed to replace the broken and faded lenses with the wrong ones I had ordered by carefully separating the bonded parts. It can be done and is a workaround if, like me, you have ordered the wrong parts  |

Yes, they are too.
LED bulbs in an incandescent holder is illegal as they are designed and certified 'E' marked for use with a regular incandescent bulb. If you want LED they need to be 'E' marked units such as the RDX or Wipac's as they are 'E' marked and tested as complete LED units. The only lights you'd get away with this on is the reverse light as the aren't obligatory / compulsory lighting. |

If this is the current legislation, then reversing lights on vehicles after Oct '85 still have to have an approval mark - if fitted.
http://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/1989/1796/schedule/14/made (A quick scan of the 91, 94 and 2005 Amendment regs doesn't show any changes to reversing lamp rules) but no guarantees I haven't missed something somewhere. |
