2014 Defender 110 Puma 2.2 XS CSW Corris Grey
Grizz's 110 csw with portal axles
As requested some more info on my build .

After looking around i decided to fit a set of portal axles from Killa axles .
I spoke at length with wolfgang about the kit he offered .

The kit has been fully revised to include extra braces for the front and rear hubs .

I set the may bank holiday weekend aside to fit the pile of parts i had got ready .

So saturday morning i striped the rear axle .

Fitted -
A ashcroft locker .
the portal kit .
+ 2" OME Springs and shocks.
Terrafirma trailing arms.

Sunday -
I stripped the front axle .
Ashcroft diff ,
Portal axles.
+ 2" OME Springs and shocks

Wolfgang was very helpful during the build as the fitting instructions on his web site are for the older kit .

The drive and handling is really good .

The off road ability is amazing , i was concerned the wider track may have been a problem but as off yet its not .

Tonka toys rule!

My daughter is currently doing her A level psychology and thinks my love of big tyred Defenders is down to my parents selling my Tonka toys when they thought I grown out of them....

In round numbers, what sort of budget has this taken?

Cheers Keith

love portals, and knew they were big money; but 16k! is the landie purely for pleasure? what made you go the portals route over and above more "normal" options on the drivetrain?

as i understand it, you get a further reduction in gearing, is this the case?

how does it drive on the road?

again, awesome. be really interested to see how it looks against a standard landie next to it Mr. Green

Thats for lockers , tryes , wheels and the portal kit .

It's something i've always wanted ..

I didn't want to go with silly long spring to get a lift .

It's great on the road .cant tell it's got them fitted tbh other than being so tall lol .

It's just a toy and will be used to it's full Thumbs Up
