Guess VCV based on 2007 from your profile.
Replaced 3 on 2008-2007 cars all around the 100k km mark with similar symptoms. ![]() |

I reckon change the fuel filter, not just drain it. Down here LR Aus specify a new filter every 60k, so they must have been just draining it all the times i though i was getting a newy. It got to the point the car would stall when cold, idle poorly but run fine when hot. A new filter made it all the differance and appears to have spared me from the vgv valve damage complaint.
I think the rattle/ knock thing is a normal thing. Mine makes various degrees of knock at various volumes, at various speeds. Around 60klm is its clangiest. I just turn up the stereo. It still idles with small audiable variations in reves which i thought it never should, but it always has and is too minor to chase. My Defender and travels |
