Am I doing something wrong?

My 90 (2011) is stornoway grey. I have used a little bit of primer, and i have two types of paint. A genuine parts touch up stick, and a touch up pen with felt nib.

regardless of which one i use the paint is really dark.. even after 5 minutes of shaking in warm weather. Whats going on? it sticks out like a sore thumb Sad

Primer affecting colour coat? Does it come with a clear lacquer, if so have you tried using it? Steve.

To clarify, your Defender looks Orkney & the touch up looks Stornoway.

Get a stonechip company to do it, there's loads about. It's not expensive and they'll get a perfect match. Thumbs Up If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

I've had little success with paint sticks too.
Airbrush by a professional would be better in my opinion or live with the battle scars.

Everything normally tells a story even down to a stonechip.

Hello All,
My paintwork just under my windscreen has got a few stone chips that have turned to little rust spots!
Is there any thing that I could spray onto the paintwork(Blue) to stop it and prevent anymore stone chips,
I have dinitroled inside through the door hinges but obviously I can't spray that on paintwork,

Any comments would be appreciated Thumbs Up

Arran

Puzzling this colour match problem... Shocked

I had to touch up a few stone chips with Stornoway Grey recently, and painted the heads of a few SS door bolts. I was really please with the colour match, the Lacquer didn't change the colour it just added the gloss finish.

For Stornoway make sure it's VEP 501730 LEL
