I put the Alpine sub on the cubby box.
Looks good, and transformed the sound of the stereo, I was really impressed, well worth doing 80" 80" 86" 88" 90" Wanted, Forward Control Anything considered. |

Tried to order the alpine subwoofer as a factory option but told it only fits a 110 |

Had a Rainbow 10" fitted to mine behind the passenger seat of my 90 van - sounds great!

On the back of the cubby works great. Fills the interior with bass. You learn not to put the housekeys in the cupholder, 'cos they rattle like crazy.

I've got the standard XS alpine system. Can I buy the same sub as LR fit and add it retrospectively? Does it need a separate amp? Like the OP I would love to add a sub but would want it to look factory standard if possible. 2015 110 USW XS in Santorini with premium contrast leather seats in tan/black, black headlining and with Dual Finish alloys (in the garage, now on Wolf rims with Goodyear MT/Rs)
2012 '62' 2.2 X-Tech 110 USW now gone ... 1984 90 soft top with full roll cage, 200 tdi engine etc now sold 2012 USW XS 2.2 "FUU" now gone.... |

Click image to enlarge Sub fits nicely on the cubby box, small amp lives in the battery compartment, and the controls for the sub are fixed to the front of the cubby box, Simple plug in and play, I took all the carpets out to run the cables, it's an easy job to fit. The factory sub actually has the Alpine logo printed the other way up so that the 'opening' faces down.
The 'after market Alpine' sub will work equally as well either way up but having it with the slot at the top may invite 'stuff' to be deposited in the slot |

I did wonder about that,
I had it facing down to start with, but OCD kicked in as I couldn't live with the upside down Alpine logo 80" 80" 86" 88" 90" Wanted, Forward Control Anything considered. |

I totally agree, it would bug me too.
We've recently fitted the same set up for a client and I agonised over which way up to put it and eventually opted for the 'wrong way' up from a practicality view point. If it had been my own vehicle I think I would still have done the same thing but then sourced an Alpine sticker to put over it |

It's a 90 HT XS and the dealer Conway LR said its for the 110 - so looks like I'll fit it when the soundproofing happens.
Also want black pack but can't have that either, sawtooth can only be bought from the parts counter and not factory option |
