Corbeau Seats - Another bucket seat thread!
Hi guys just wondering if anyone's fitted these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1PC-x-Corbeau-Cl...35e686b4c8 or similar GRP-backed bucket seats in their defenders. Cheers!

These have always looked like a great bargain seat wise. I'm very very tempted, but I have a thing for Kirkey seats and always always wanted some so will probably go that way some time down the line.

I wouldn't run those sort of seats with harnesses though unless you have some sort of roll protection!

I don't think that those "particular" seats would be suitable for a Defender,...they look more like a race seat to me. But Corbeau are a very well known brand, so there are surely othere models available that would be more user friendly for use in a Defender.

The problem with them is you cant do the usual shuffle/slide in and out. A definite problem for 'quick' movements. If however you dont mind clambering then it should be ok.

Have to admit it is a good concern to have though. You need to try the set-up out before you go for it to make sure you can deal with it every day Wink,

Also, given that there is no lumbar/recline adjustment and they normally have minimal padding they can prove incredibly uncomfortable on long journeys. I'd try before you buy....

And you'd need to be sure you can use them with the standard seat belt.

Racing harnesses on a road car are a total nightmare. Especially given the position of the Defender handbrake etc...

I have a set of Corbeau seats and they are lovely! Very very comfortable! I got my set from LRI Solutions and they are the ones they have that are for a Defender ie they have the correct seat frames and fit really nicely.

I am not sure how well the ones you have seen will work in a Defender. Maybe ok if you want it as an off-road racer type of thing but as a road car, I think they will soon start to be a pain as getting in and out will be a bit of a faff.

It really just comes down to personal preference though. The only thing I would say is take your time to choose as if you get the seats wrong then you will not enjoy your Defender.
