Centrifugal oil filter
Hi guys!
I noticed my oil was over the max line, I was due a oil change anyway, so I dumped the oil, put fresh oil in to see if it will rise again. Now after 600km it did not rise so I believe I am ok. I changed the full flow filter last time.
Since I did not change the oil filters when I dumped the oil, I was wondering if I can change the centrifugal filter without dumping the oil. Is the centrifugal filter housing full or empty when the oil goes to the sump?

Great, so I can leave it for an hour or two and open the filter housing without the fear of oil spilling out.

You can change it up a couple minutes after shut down, no need to wait so long. It can drip out about 50cc of oil, so make sure you have a rag under it when you take it out. 2010 Range Rover MkIII Autobiography Super Charged (Idris)
