What are the best diff guards for a MY13 110?
I want to give my 110 a little more protection from all the knocks when green laning.

What are the best diff guards to go for?

I hear that the 'wrap around' guards are not brilliant but just wondered what other people's experience was. I also saw on another thread that the Qt guards, although very good, need some welding? I just wanted a bolt on solution if possible.

Qt? Wildbear? Terrafirma? Paddocks?

My old 90 survived a long time with just a standard 'rover' bolt-on guard on the front axle...

For the 110 I was just going to buy the two wraparound guards from Paddocks as they seem good value.

Not got around to it yet mind, so I'd be interested in what you decide!

Only thing with wraparound guards is that they do reduce the clearance slightly under the diff, although if you were to 'slide' over a rock on the guard that would be preferable to the rock hitting the diff no doubt! Now: 2010 2.4 TDCi 110 Utility Wagon

Went through the same dilemma a couple of months ago,

Ended up with a first four wraparound on the front- its OK but was an arse to fit. the top bracket that fits over the top pf the diff is a bit disappointingly wussy.

Have got a wildbear rear one to fit at the weekend, really wish I had gone for the front one as well- such a nicely made piece of kit. Have seen pictures of one fitted as well- fits like a glove.

QT are now rebranded.

I tried to order some direct on the QT website but I had to ring them due to an "issue with their online payment".

So I phoned QT and they informed me that they have been rebranded as Wild Bear as they are now distributed via Bearmach. They are exactly the same apart from the logo.

Only the LHD versions require welding. The RHD ones bolt straight on.

The Paddock ones, are really bad quality, the galvanising it terrible and the welds were rusty when they turned up, so I sent them back and bought the Wild Bear.

I fitted front and back on Saturday. They are easy to fit, but do need some nudging to join the guard to the bracket. Also, with the P38 diff casing, it uses the 2 spare threaded holes on the diff casing. They will be filled with crap, so you'll probably need to run a tap through them to clean them out.

Useful info above, I did notice they were remarkably similar but didn't think much more of it.

Hi x-isle

Did you know which Wildbear guards you went for?

I think I need a BA 7602 for the front and a BA 7610 for the rear.

BUT the description for the BA 7610 is for 'Defender 110/130' and the BA 7607 is for 'Defender 2007 on' Shocked

Somewhat confusing.

I couldn't see from the photos but does the front diff guard offer protection to the output flange like the rear version does?

After speaking with QT, they suggested ordering from Mailorder4x4 I had never ordered from them before, however, as QT themselves suggested them, I thought I'd give them a go.

These are the ones you need;

FRONT (Same as the QT model A1050A)

http://www.mailorder4x4.com/performance-pa...-1998.html

REAR (Same as the QT model A1080)

http://www.mailorder4x4.com/performance-pa...0-130.html

One thing that was wierd and I'm guessing is because it was dispatched direct from Bearmach (which incidentally is based in my home village in Wales) I had an email stating it was on backorder, then about an hour later it was dispatched and it came next day.

Very happy with Mailorder4x4! Thumbs Up

No it's slightly different as it bolts in place of the steering arm guard.

I haven't got a photo, but did find this on the internet. As you can see, it's a fair way up inside, so not likely to catch it.
