I don't think so. Why would they know anything, at this stage?

Because it takes approx 2 to 3 years to design, develop, test and get the facilities in place, to supply the major components in any vehicle.
That is AFTER they've submitted initial costs, done the bidding and negotiated contract terms.

If they know nothing then the vehicle is a long way off.
You would be surprised how much of the design and development is done by the suppliers.

I fear there will be no replacement for the utility based Defender we love, I think it's probably indicative that the largest Defender Land Rover dealership in the country, Roger Young, in Saltash, Cornwall, has opened a Isuzu dealership directly next door to their Land Rover dealership.

With the commercial utilty market gone to the Japanese is the enthusiast market enough to support a completely new range of vehicles in addition to the Freelander / Disco / Range Rover? I hope so but fear not.

So, looking on the bright side I intend to invest in gallons and gallons of Waxoyl ............. Very Happy 2010 Defender 110 Station Wagon, Santorini Black.

I strongly suspect you are correct. There will be no Defender replacement, but there will be a model called a Defender. 2011 110 USW
