think your find one relay for whole screen , so really cant see it can be a relay fault . sounds more like a connection problem or a break in the element wire in the screen

not something ive ever taken notice of , but sure you only have two connections for the screen one in each bottom corner , so if one side is working , I would say the problem will be the screen its self

Unless........................there's 3 tabs off the screen Whistle My screen is split into two, the earth in the middle with power at each corner so just check first that you haven't got a flat ribbon wire coming out of the window rubber around the middle of the screen.
It all depends on who fitted the wiring as to where it all is as some fitters would interpret the fitting instructions differently, all will give the same result but may not follow a set pattern Whistle
If you have the three wire screen like mine then you'll just have to follow the wiring.

I am formulating a theory that the heated screens are perhaps not as strong as the non-heated. My original (non-heated) screen lasted 4 years and about 80k miles with only minor stone blemishes. In the 70k miles since I replaced it with the first heated screen, stone damage means that I am now needing my fourth heated screen. Big Cry

Perhaps stones that would make a tiny chip on an unheated screen cause irreparable damage to a heated one.

I accept that the shameful condition of the roads may be something to do with this, and I do do a high mileage (probably about 30k per year), but the number of screens I am getting through is ridiculous!

I always use genuine Pilkington, by the way (may be this is where I am going wrong)!

The heated windshield contains a single heating element which is powered for up to a maximum of 8 minutes when selected. The system is only operational when the engine is running.

Operation of the heated windshield is controlled by the heated windshield module. The heated windshield module is located behind the instrument cluster and receives an engine running signal from the engine control module (ECM). The heated windshield module also monitors the condition of the heated windshield switch. If the switch is pressed, a ground path is created. If both these signals are in place, the heated windshield module provides a feed to the heated windshield element until either:

1.the switch is pressed a second time
2. 8 minutes elapses
3. or the engine is stopped.

I had an issue last winter where the LH side of the screen didn't appear to work so dispite what the manual says it should be worth checking all connections to see if it's a temporary issue. Can't tell you what the issue was with mine as it was "fixed" by the dealer and when asked the service adviser didn't have a clue what they did.

The heated front screen relay is under the drivers seat and is the one second from the right in a bank of 5; the far right one is the relay for the timer. The underside of the seatbox lid may have a diagram to confirm this.

Get a sledge hammer and smash it. Get you wife or daughter to go and see gavin at Autoglass and say that a 2cv she was following flicked a stone up at it! Like for like, job sorted! Lol

Wrong time of year not to have it working!

If you are not fully comp I wouldn't recommend this! Lol

Heated front screen and seats would be mandatory in Kevin's Britain.

I'll have it if both sides don't work, as long as it's in good nick with minimal wiper marks, no chips or scratches etc. Wink heated windscreens are for toyota owners etc Whistle
The a55hole who owned mine last used his diamond ring to clear the condensation in a morning Neutral not to mention the wiper marks Sad Pov.spec,ftw. 2006, 110,TD5.

Had a Mondeo for 3 years, heated screen, 50,000m, never failed or replaced. Had a Range Rover Vogue for 3 years, same miles, no problem. Country lanes in East Mids and East Anglian and main roads and motorways.

Maybe just bad luck! Sad
