Chile 2007 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 SW Chawton White
Clutch
Hi Guys

I have some news. I went to explore under the cubby box since I had a bit of a noise when shifting in 1st gear (I know what it was Evil or Very Mad ). Well, every time I do that I can see the hand brake drum rotating a bit. So the clutch I guess is not working as it should be. Anyway, I think it has been like this since the changed the clutch.

Do you think it is acceptable?

thanks

Hi, MK!

Mine do the same, and I had my clutch replaced 10000 km ago (with 25000km), I think it's normal, but still don't ask my dealer about it, and it didn't do all times, so I think it's normal, waitng a little more time with clutch depressed may help, but not solve, and lets remenber that is a Defender, everything is possible!!!!

For those mechanically wised, what could be the issue with Defender`s weak clutch?

Plate Size?
springs?
pressure plate?

I know the 1st generation had problems with the springs, but I´m trying to find out why the 2nd type sometimes also fails.

cheers
