Somewhere to stay around Portsmouth
Morning everyone considering going to see the Americas Cup regatta in Portsmouth in July next year, any suggestions on somewhere decent to stay for a wee overnight, like to get it booked before the big media push starts.

Cheers
John

Best Western Royal Beach Hotel. We used to use it during dry docking. It is an 'old splendid' hotel that must have been magnificent in it's day. As a Best Western it is clean and tidy has wifi a late bar and an all you can eat breakfast buffet. Or consider a Premier Inn.

Thumbs Up

If you're on your own or with a group of 'likeminded' people head here later on in the evening.

Ranchos steakhouse is 10 minutes walk away also excellent food and Kingsleys is just opposite. You can eat steak then 'become it' afterwards with the 'growlers' waiting eagerly.

A word of caution.....Make sure you've a decent pair of beer goggles on....The women you will meet there you will have been waiting all your life to meet....when and if you do those women will still nevertheless scare the living daylights out of you.

'Apparently so I've heard and am led to believe.'

Haha, cheers for that Mal, the steak is probably the best bit of meat on offer then?

My father was a signalman on destroyers And told me a lot of scary stories, I always thought he was exaggerating but it doesn't seem so Laughing Laughing 2014 110 2.2TDCi XS Station wagon

Next time you see him drop the names "Chicago Rock" and "Joanna's" and look intently for any expression changes. Both places have long since gone but many people will still have dreams and nightmares about 'em I'd wager.
