Not impressed witg Adrian Flux
Realised last weekend that we have just exceeded the agreed mileage on our defender (policy ends mid feb).
No problem we thought as Flux had told us when we took out the policy that if we needed more mileage during the year it wouldnt be a problem and would be a minimal mostly admin charge as long as it wasnt in the first or last month.

Anyway rang the other day to be told it would be another £200 for another 1500miles for the remaining 2 and a bit months!
The policy was only £400ish when we took it out!
Have now got to cancel the policy instead which will no doubt see us no money returned and take out a new one (this was Flux's suggestion)
As you can imagine most unimpressed with them.

What was the original mileage limitation on the policy?

In my opinion all insurance companies are just after your money. Helpful as can be when you are taking out the policy, but come the time when you need assistance during the insured period they just turn out to be unhelpful money grabbing Censored

The online branch of flux is even worse. Have been with the co op for three years now. Proper job.

Humm thats really weird.

I did exactly the same and raised mine from 11999 a year to 20k a year and only had to pay £52 as a one off adjustment fee over the phone by card easy as that. Running Restoration Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/post323197.html#323197

The Co-op? Too much coverage in the tabloids of late - still unsure about the senior management team.

Adrian Flux? Sucked me in with a great quote and then left me reeling at renewal time. Never again.

I had the same problem with them, I think you hit the change mileage point at over 8,000. The extra £200 changes mileage to unlimited, even though they like you to give a figure. I have 7,500 or 8,000 I can't remember off hand and changed 30,000 which was £200 extra after I moved and now have to do a London and back, 200 miles, twice a week, ie approx. 2,000 a month!

Doesn't really matter who you go with regards to insurance brokers it's not their own products their peddling and pricing is not governed by them. Just make sure your policy is not provided by Markerstudy whoever you're with. If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

Treat every day as if it is your last....one day you will be right!!

Been with Flux for around 4 years, just rang up to change the Disco 2 to a Td5 90 and they want £900 for the year the robbing ....

Needless to say I'm extremely disappointed and they were unwilling to make any concession on that. Rang Admiral and they've come out cheapest so far at £500. Spoke to a helpful guy who it turns out is also a Defender nut. All mods declared and covered too.

Came away from Adrian Flux.
When I got the new Defender they said my current company wouldnt cover it.
They would have to put me with Aviva and would reduce Policy cost by £85 as current one had 3 months to go.

when I declined Aviva they told me I was not due a refund.
When I enquired they told me " it comes back to us"..!!??

Much disccussion and argument they refunded £40..and then I gave in

Now with NFU.. Seem very organised and very good cover.
Came highly reccomended..
