Winters come yet again the country is descending into panic
Winters come! And the first snow is forecast and yet again the country is descending into panic. Weathermen have become overexcited and are issuing dire warning reminiscent to the day of reckoning, with weather warning bordering on the apocalypse. Shocked

Is it going to be the right type of snow? Will trains be able to run, will aircraft take off or have to be grounded, have councils got enough rock salt, can the road emergency services cope. Will we have scenes at supermarkets reminiscent of black Friday as shoppers panic to buy in supplies of milk and bread?

It’s just snow for god’s sake! The only people who need assistance in very heavy snowfalls are farmers with livestock the rest of us let’s just settle down and enjoy the white stuff.
We will survive. Whistle

I had a Censored in a Q7 stuck with his back end in a ditch, flagged me down and asked for a tow I obligingly reversed up got out my rope and shackles, put the rope on the towbar on my 110 and handed the Q7 driver the other end of the rope and a shackle while telling to put it on something secure!!! Wasn't impressed at getting dirty Twisted Evil 2014 110 2.2TDCi XS Station wagon

The only warning we have for next week is sever wind, they must know that the wife is doing the cooking. Don't make old people mad.
We don't like being old in the first place,
so it doesn't take much to Censored us off.

Heavy and persistent snow, freezing gales and sub-zero temperatures threaten to grind the country to a standstill for up to FIVE MONTHS, horrified long-range weather forecasters have warned.

The impending bout of extreme weather will come as a shock and forecasters have warned Britons should not to be lulled into a false sense of security by the recent mild conditions.

January is currently showing signs of temperatures hitting “record-breaking” lows meaning parts of the country could see the mercury plunge to -27C (-17F).

I think the stats say more 4x4's get stuck in a run than any others. Therefore proving 4x4's are rubbish. Very Happy

(In the same way more people die in bed than anywhere else so therefore bed is the most dangerous place to be.)
