Key fob interference
I posted this here as it's not for a defender, but wondering if anyone has any ideas,

My wife's suberu key fobs seems to only work intermittently, nothing too unusual but it seems the same for a number of cars that park outside my house, transit vans also suffer, cannot see its a coincidence as its happens to often but what is that could be the cause of interference on car alarms systems that would stop the fobs working ?

My wife car ever plays up when parked anywhere else.

Driving us mad as its no fun a 5 am!

Obviously as your problem appears to be geographical you need to consider local conditions perhaps?

Radio/television transmitter, mobile phone mast, electrical pylons, local radio ham operator basically anything local to your house that may interfere with the fob emmision. If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

Treat every day as if it is your last....one day you will be right!!

I noticed my defender fob at home didn't work a couple of times when walking over to it , then noticed the electric gate opening and it was the wife opening gate with her gate fob killed signal from defender fob otherwise it works fine also it does did to discovery fobs as well , customer had discovery that wouldn't unlock when he was out on a shoot moved discovery and it worked fine , showed him what can happen by doing gate fob while he tried his fob and it done same thing

Most fobs are 433MHz which is quite a well used band. Usual culprits for interference on the band are cheap wireless doorbells (obviously intermittant) weather stations (intermittant), thermostats or most likely a (cheap) wireless cctv system
