"Driving licence information via this service will only be made available to those who have a right to see it, and with the knowledge of the driving licence holder."
How will that work? |

Probably a clause in the "contract" (read: small print) when you apply for a licence, that you are giving carte blanche permission for any *agency* (read: Gov't agency or debt collecting carpark company) to glean your personal details if needed.
................then sell them on to a 3rd, 4th or 10th party..... |

Thanks for the heads-up.
I can never find my paper copy. Twice I've had to pay £25 to replace it. |

I do find it quite a farce when they will tell you that only authorised persons will be able to access your information. The more Government Departments that I have to deal with are actually private companies acting on behalf of HMG. I had to sort out my sons Disability Paymentslast year as he turned 16. Long story short, it took 11 months to re-establish his payments during which time all the other payments were suspended whilst a private company was doing the job for the Government Departments. No contact could be made to the company except by sending letters of complaint or a single phone number that was manned by totally disinterested personnel.
What are these private companies in it for? To make money and the personal data that they have access to is just another source of revenue for them, we all know what's going to happen here! Half these damned companies aren't even British! |

No plastic card for me I'm still on the old green paper one that I have had for over thirty years. Don't make old people mad.
We don't like being old in the first place, so it doesn't take much to us off. Richard |
