Moto Lita 14in or 15in??
I have the standard steering wheel for my 90 td5 and i am looking into the upgrade for Moto lita but i dont know which to choose 14in or 15in though i am inclined to the 14in (350mm)to feel a difference, i called mudstuff (Kevin) the other day and he said they sell both steering wheels but he recommends personally 15in (380mm) - Just right for a defender as it is still a truck

I have raised seats, i dont do trial but rather overlands twice a year and drive on the highway mainly and some soft offroading .

what should i choose ? Is the 14in very different from 15in on a defender, the original steering wheel is about 410mm.

appreciate your insights if you have done this upgrade to 14in ?

thanx gents..... Happy Travel

I have been swapping back and forth between standard and a 14 inch Momo Tuner.

I prefer the feel of the standard but I find it too big...although I am 6.2 and have seat risers. The Momo is better overall but I sometimes struggle to see the top of the dails so I was also thinking of a 15 inch. But - I am not sure I have seen a Moto Lita i prefer.

I would be interested to see the model you are thinking about.

Meanwhile I will be using the Momo.

Your post made me have another look. Quite like this one in 15inch in black leather and black spokes.

A bit pricey though.

Hi Bm,

Well this can help you ou, this is the model I am seeking from Mudstuff

http://www.mudstuff.co.uk/products/moto-li....html

You can't find these here in Portugal so I can't see or try them.....

When I see Momo I see them in 350mm and from a standard 410mm it is a difference compared to the 380mm on a 15in...

But I never swapped before so I don't know what is the feeling of a smaller 14in steering wheel on a defender

What should I expect thanx Happy Travel

I went for the black spoke with holes and 15 inch, but went for the dished shape. It does feel quite a bit smaller when you first swap and it feels comfortable. The only thing with the dished is the indicator stalk seems a long way from the wheel.

I have the exact same steering wheel as DSB. A dished 15".
I have a 2015MY Defender with DSC and the boss is slimmer so the stalks are not further away than on the standard wheel. You can bend the stalks into position if you want though.
Personally I think 15" is perfect. I wouldn't want any smaller.

Hi DSB,

What you mean is that the 15in is a bit smaller and comfortable but you thinktgat moto Lita are normally dished ? As I thougghtit was flat from mudstuff but indeed Kevin told me that it might be needed to bend a little the indicators to be closer any thoughts on the 14in..? Happy Travel

15" Moto-Lita flat as fitted to mine. No stalk bending required. If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

Treat every day as if it is your last....one day you will be right!!

The stalk position isn't uncomfortable or bad, just a little further away - I'm used to it now. Flat or dished both look fine, I just chose dished (bought the boss from MUD as well), mine is a MY13 and I am very happy with the steering wheel set up.

I put a bit of glue on the centre cap as it spins, not an OCD thing bit it is annoying, not enough to fix it permanently though.
