Adrenaline pedal lock LED
Just wondering if any members have somehow connected the red flashing LED on the adrenaline pedal lock to a power source in the truck to save using those little watch batteries? Obviously I guess it woukd need to be some sort of quick release connector for when the pedal lock is removed but I'm just wondering if it has been done and if so how. 2007 (57) Defender 90 (Sold)
Looking for another to replace it.

The road less travelled.... is a muddy one!

It's a neat idea, but I'm sure there'd be a lazy morning where I'd forget and just rip it out! Could use one of these magnetic conductive connections but they're pricey! Think mobile centre sell a similar item, but there's various alternatives about!

To be honest, I dont know why they didn't just fit a small switch on the PCB to save the battery. Seems crazy as they dont last long on permanently and I've ran out of batteries now lol!

Quick drop off to the powder coaters and off to Maplins methinks!

Decided to dispense with the battery LED jobby and here was my shopping list...

20mm in-line fuse holder & 20mA fuse. Two pin quick-release male and female connector, suitable cable and a 12 volt flashing LED. Will hard wire adjacent to pedals with quick-release connector and LED fits perfectly into aperture left by battery jobby. May add a second LED somewhere prominant with small notice stating a pedal lock is fitted to possibly put off some toe rag chancer forcing there way in to try and nick the vehicle! Little more thought needed.

Just thinking ... Would the easiest solution not be to just wire it up to a fag lighter socket and either use the standard socket, or stick one in the foot well, or for that matter some bananananana plugs etc with the females solidly fixed to the dash underside?

Just trying to think of the cheapest methods now that can deal with the occasional forgetfulness!

What about fitting something like a Ford Transit sliding door connector!

When the door shuts it makes a connection, so when you close the pedal lock it'll connect and the lock can keep it in place!

There is a really neat magnetic connector used on Bentley car battery tenders.
I'm sure they must be available to buy separately from a component supplier.

Why overcomplicate the issue? The two pin/socket connector I bought from Maplins is a 'plocket' basically it's quick release, give it a tug and it comes apart so no danger if you do forget (despite having a blinking bright LED flashing in your fizzog whilst inserting the key and undoing the lock) you'll do no cable damage.

Ford Transit sliding door connection? Bentley car battery tenders? ....... Rolling with laughter Bow down

The LED function is the worst thought out and executed feature of the Adrenalin pedal lock. I took one look at it and decided it was junk - have never used it.

I simply rely on a potential thief seeing the bright yellow metalwork and concluding that the mechanical protection is too much hassle.

If the LED design feature had been more thoroughly thought out - it would have had a switch and perhaps a simple plug socket to negate the need for a battery - but that all adds cost and is it worth it? I'd recommend that James at Adrenalin simply focuses on keeping the mechanical integrity of his product intact.
