Leaking window seals-can you still buy liquid silicon sealer
Not strictly a LR question but it may be of relevance to those with aftermarket side windows e.g. camper conversions etc.
Anyway the fixed windows on my transit camper are leaking. I have found cracks in the black window sealant which seams to be some form of Sikaflex adhesive sealant. Removing the windows and reapplying the sealant would be a major undertaking, however I remember using a product called Window Seal which came in a 3-in-1 stylee tin can. It was a liquid sealant which cured once inside the cracks in the window seal. I was wondering if similar products were still available? 1990 Defender 300TDi

Can try this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CAPTAIN-TOLLEYS-...0568235437

Worked for me on sealing my roof Smile

Just make sure you wipe off any excess because it will leave like a PVA glue type varnish mess if you don't wipe it off immediately. Also make sure you do it on a warm dry day or in a workshop where it can creep in and dry, rather than get washed out again. Running Restoration Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/post323197.html#323197

You could try some of the Techsil RTV product range, its a very viscous product which we use for potting leds for use underwater.

For anyone trying to cure leaks or in Land Rover terms 'water ingress' this is the stuff to use. I believe it is the same product Land Rover use themselves at least in their water ingress manual it recommends this product.

Captain Tolley's in Saggydog's link is one of the best. If the cracks are large Captain Tolley's first then seal up with Sikaflex 29i afterwards.
