Easy no great problem really I have sent you an email Thumbs Up

Just to add the gearbox is the same in a transit and defender just different end casings and tbh I think the gears are slightly stronger in the defender box

Hi Steve

Could you possibly give me some info on your conversion we have come to a dead stop with this 3.2 conversion and unable to get any help from anybody who has done this before we are having problems with the ecu communicating.
Any advice would be appriciated.

Thanks

Rogermac

How much of the original transit have you got, you will need
Engine bay harness, dashboard harness, cluster, fuse boxes, transponder, original key., throttle pedal and ecu. if you have enough of the donor transit with everything plugged in and powered up you should be able to get it running on the floor. I did warn you that this was no small job. It would be a lot easier if you had a running 3.2 transit to compare it to. Good luck with it. 90 300 TDI SW (sold)

Its out of a Ford Ranger 3.2 tdci. Engine and gearbox is all fitted in the vehicle and we have the Ecu and wiring loom from the ford Ranger which has been modified for the fifth Injector.

The ECU is a Siemens Sid 2008 and is the same ecu as fitted to the 2.2 tdci Defender it even has the same part no but when we opened them up the Ranger ecu has an extra chip on the board which I suspect is for the 5th Injector.

I think the main problem is getting the ecu to talk to the body control unit.

For a start you would need all the wiring from a 3.2 tdci ranger as it runs as you say Siemens ecu which is different to the 2008 visteon ecu ? . 2015 2.2 tdci hardtop xs

If you buy a transit ecu from Ford they all have the extra injector driver, they fit 2.2, 2.4 & 3.2. I would imagine the Ranger has a more complex electrical architecture than the Transit. Was the Ranger auto or manual. 90 300 TDI SW (sold)

They don't it has to be a specific ecu for the 3.2 !!! And because it's the newer engine it needs the Siemens 3.2 ecu 2015 2.2 tdci hardtop xs
