United Kingdom 2003 Defender 110 Td5 DCPU Havana
Federal Couragia MTs (18 inch)
Anyone had any experience with Federal Tyres?

I'm not terribly familiar, as have always gone one way or the other with tyres (super cheap and cheerful, or well known and trusted brands)

Time for new boots soon, I have been looking at http://tyresdirectuk.co.uk/shop/product-in...p;id=32306

And for an 18 inch mud/all terrain, they look just the ticket, however, the alternatives are - General Grabber AT2, Hankook RT03, Cooper Discoverer STT or STMaxx? or the old favourite BFG AT.

These are £50 less per tyre though, hence my temptation...

Bit of a coincidence that you post this now but I picked up another Defender on Wednesday which already has a set of these on (albeit in 16"). I've only had it a couple of days so to soon yet to give much of an opinion but they seem to handle ok on the road and the motorway. Noise is pretty much what you'd expect of a mud tyre at motorway speeds, not really intrusive on the road. I've not had chance to try them in the mud yet but they're reasonably aggressive so I would think they'll perform well. My only concern with them is some online reviews from a few years ago when there appears to have been a bad batch and some of them suffered sidewall splits (one reviewer actually had one blow). Like I said early days but I'm pleased with them so far, I'll just be keeping an eye on the sidewalls.

Off Topic ^^^^ How are those balanced above, I see no clamp on weights so must be stick on or Dynabeads?

No idea Steve I'll be honest. No steering wobble or any other issues though.

Had a look this morning Steve, clamp on weights on the inside of the rims.
