EGR Delete
Can dealers do this or is it only tuners? Is it something that can just be turned off as closed.
My performance of my 90 has gone a bit iffy, it's geterally okay but like to kangaroo again when cold in low gears and tends to hesitate slightly on acceleration especially 2nd 3rd Annd a little in 4th.
Other gears are fine.
I had the MIL light the other day, producing the EGR fault codes.
Again, it's only 2 yrs old and about 15k with a brand new EGR fitted.
Needs servicing and will be done soon, but could fuel filter/ map sensors be culprits too?
My money is on the EGR, wish I could get rid of the thing completely.
Will try some millers additive and premium diesel soon and see what happens.
I've covered 180 miles today in one stint and never had any problems, pulls well still and so on but there is this hesitation / slight clatter.
None at idle or when not under load I.e. Downhill.
It is just a pain.

Have you noticed whether it does the cleaning process when you turn off?

Yeah it does mate.
Not always though which is how it's behaved since new, I think the new generation of EGR's don't do the cleaning cycle every time.
The shutdown noise sound pretty much normal, no noises whilst running from it at all.

I would guess the cleaning cycle would be ecu controlled not by egr itself

thinking about it , it must be ecu controlled as some tuners leave it to do the cleaning cycle even if disabled when running and some disable completely

duff egr ?

Could be, my last EGR lasted from late 07 to autumn 12.
This one has been from then to now and only 2 years basically.
I guess, could I not disconnect it to give it a test and see what happens.
I could can clear the MIL anyway if it comes on so that's not an issue.

I'll try it. Thumbs Up
I'll get it serviced (when they can do it) and get the MOT over with and go from there.
If it does turn out to be the EGR it's going to pay me soon to get a remap and shut it off because I can't keep on messing about with it and they costs plenty anyway.
I can't be sure but they way it's behaving and the performance iffyness screms EGR issues to me and even more so that I had th MIL the other day.
I had a nice day today and it didn't miss a beat but it's a bit annoying that the power delivery is a bit lumpy and not what it should be.
Was driving like perfect until just the other day, perhaps some fuel was not quite what it should be. Confused

How many miles have you done since your last fuel filter change?

About 12k, needs doing this month.
I had it planned but clutch went so a bill of £1370 for that meant I had to put it on hold, temporarily anyway.
