Can you list all your mods you have on your Defender?
As title suggests, thought it could a be a good thread.
Anything matters be it purposeful mods, looks related, performance. Pretty much anything that isn't factory.
I'll list up mine when I get the chance.
Thumbs Up

As you probably well know the oil filler plug on a Salisbury diff is a parallel thread rather than a taper thread.

If your rear diff casing is a bit warn from years of top ups and drains then you run the risk of winding your filler plug in too far and then the diff cage effectively biting it off - dumping all your oil on the drive hours before you set off on holiday (ask me how I know Big Cry)

So the mod is very simple, Fit a flanged Plug!

I got mine from screwfix for pennies http://www.screwfix.com/p/brass-flanged-plug/22863

I chucked it in a lathe and then skimmed it down on length a bit so that when tightened up and sealed down on the rubber o-ring it didnt protrude in enough to ether hit the diff and because of the flange it can not be wound all the way in - plus thanks to the flange and o-ring it should not leak!

Just waiting for next service so I can swap out my old rear diff pan and plug for the new one.

I've done a few odd things to mine.

Front grill change plus headlight surrounds for a more retro look,
Winch with remote Allbright solonoids
J E Engineering Stage 1 re map
Heated windscreen
Heated mirrors
Seat riser plus seat moved towards centre of motor,
Cubby box raised giving storage underneath
Two batteries plus split charge and battery monitor
Inside outside temp guage
CB
Heated seats
2nd row Exmoor Trim seats,
Sound proofing on floor and 2nd row seat box
Central locking
Eberspacer with seperate fuel tank plus a timer faclity(Best thing out of all the mods)
Grills all round back windows
Rear windows limo filmed
Rock/tree sliders
Rear area ply lined
Boxed in floor area in back to store usefull items(aka junk)
Rear worklight
Few spotlights at the front and on the roofrack

There's probably more things over the years and I've still got ideas for more Whistle

Some I forgot, because my memory is dogturd.

Raptor dash with: CB. 4x switches - 2 wired up. front LED bumper mounted light + rear LED roof rack mounted worklight. Boost gauge, oil pressure gauge, voltmeter. Remaining two switches not doing anything.
DAB Pure digital radio with built in Bluetooth for multiple accessories - iPad, 2xphones + laptop all at once. Proper 2-in-1 aerial, mounted in the original aerial hole in the wing.

RAM mount ball sockets for iPad, bolted to side of Raptor dash, allowing full visual from passenger and driver seat.

Mud R380 tunnel tray with 2x 12v sockets and 1x two-way Blue Sea USB socket. - I did this myself with the central blue sea socket long before mud released a photo on their website promoting exactly what I did.

Stack 270 degree Water temperature gauge.
AEM EGT gauge.

Genuine LR sports steering wheel.

Removed heated bucket seats in favour of standard OE Defender seats, with Exmoor's Outlast trim.

Roof console, from ebay, - wooden but with matching headlining trim, with 2x interior lights - one front one sloping to the back. LED light upgrades - allow for piggy-wiring! Storage net attached down from roof console

Discovery 2 Auto dimming compass rear-view mirror. <--- FIRST ONE TO DO IT!

Auxiliary fuse box behind bulkhead of passenger seat, in hinged compartment.

Ply lined rear tub + rear sides, trimmed with black carpet, and large storage netting. 3x aluminium storage chests. 1x chequerplate lift-up lid box at the front. Another nearly fitting standard aluminium box, and right at the back, a Mobile Storage Systems drawer. Storage net on rear door.
Carpet lined rear roof.

Rear 5-way 12v socket set. Made from an old Halfords 5-way adapter, hard wired in, with switchable on-off settings.

Rear speaker trims with Gen. LR speakers, and rear 1/4 window trims. Screwed in unofficially, rather than LR clipped in!

Nato rear hitch.

Rear bumperettes - not currently fitted.

Rear 1/4 chequerplate - for genuine protection, not looks.

Front: Heavy duty standard style bumper, 6mm thick all round, with additional 10mm reinforcing plate spanning the length from chassis rails. Chequerplated step plates for wing-top access.
Ball and receiver hitch bolted in middle of bumper. 2x swivel recovery eyes either side of hitch.
Air-con A-bar for 2x Lazer ST4 LED lights wired to main beam.

TD5 front slam panel with intercooler grill holes at bottom.
TD5 side repeaters.

LED lights all round, except headlights.

Painted black stainless steel grill.

wing top cheq.

Safari snorkel, with full axle, gearbox, transferbox and timing case breathers.

Heavy duty driveflanges all round.

Hannibal roof rack + Howling Moon tent.

YRM battery box. Rolling with laughter 1998 110 300Tdi White Hard Top

Because of above, deleted You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation.

Hmm, this is fun. Razz Well take one 110 tray back from the auctions (this is in Oz )
Ditch tray, insert wide and flat 70l. water tank between chassis
and bolt on hi cap tub, top off with genuine LR Canvas top hand made here in Oz.
Water pump / plumbing at back of tub for shower etc
60l fuel tank under drivers seat electric pump/ switch to pump into LR tank.
twin shocks on rear - weld a second set to the chassis
Maxi Drive diff lock on rear
12v sockets at rear for fridge, lights etc, hold down points all adjusted over the years
twin batteries passenger side, army boxes bolted under tub at sides for other fuels / oils
2.8 Brazilian engine
D ring and tow ball on front bumper bolted to each chassis rail
Safari snorkel (only needed it once, even then a bit 50/50)
Heavy duty tow bracket on rear
Improved standard headlights plus spots bumper mounted
CB radio mounted, interior cab lights etc all to suit
oil temp and pressure guages, rev counter
Disco final drive gear, now cruising at 2000 rpm at 100k
Disco brake servo to stop the damn thing
swap out intercooler and rad for Allard's

The most successful? The design, with all liquids outside the bedroom one could sleep cosily in the back of the tub if necessary on a trip (this is Oz remember). I wouldn't do the 2.8 engine again, just put a better turbo on a rebuilt 300 tdi. Sold the much modified 110 2.8, in Oz
Brought the 90 home from Switzerland ...
