6 Pot, That engine is an LS3?
If you're talking supercharging, there's PLENTY of that stuff for these engines in Aus, there's supercharged LS3s everywhere, LS1, LS2, LS7, LSX, & LSAs, etc etc etc. Check out Harrop Engineering,..they do some beautiful supercharging kits for these engines, and have been doing so for a very long time.
I'll be VERY interested in your build as it progresses.

Yes it is a LS3. I am going to put the engine first after all I will be going from 120 ish BHP to 525 BHP so I think it will do for now. I am building bit of spare power into the drive train. The gear box is rated at 750 BHP and 750 lbft ( I think ). I will do a build thread as soon as I have something to post.
Cheers Rob

May be time for an update Wink

On a side note ... 6-Pot ... wow! You never mentioned one of yours was a WMIK! Very very nice! Them raid wheels come on them then?

Wouldn't know of any Wolf wing vents going anywhere? Although I know there downside functionally ... always loved the look!

Yeah, I spot them every now and again ... There was a pair that went for under £100 3-4 onths ago and I've always been annoyed at meself for not jumping on them when I had the chance!

Like you say though, they now seem to fetch well over £100 a side!

Give Rakeway a ring about them. They've been around a long time, so they aren't likely to mess people about. Seem the cheapest place to me, but just factor in the 18" wheels to!

I personally dont think you need to uprate the brakes, even on a highly tuned TD5. Keep the OEM system bob on and they should handle it fine! It all also depends on driving style I would guess.

You could also consider grooved uprated discs on a standard system (not britpart and not drilled ... there's some high spec alternatives out there!) and a nice set of pads to.

For 6-Pot and the LS3 though, that's a completely different league that would require the brakes as I imagine that thing will hit 3 figures without much trouble!

Not sure if you're running a different system though likeomg.

Someone once said to me, the standard brakes can stop the truck, plus a 3-Ton trailer without troubles for normal driving. Special set-ups though, like the LS3, or special conditions, like tracking it, would possibly over work the standard system!

Without wanting to go off topic again, what sort of rubber will you be running? I would assume AT's and MT's just wouldn't cope with a heavy foot from that motor!?

My car when I do the brakes is getting the hybrid billet turbo

I've towed my 2.8 ton boat, and the standard brakes were ok but my boats trailer is built for a heavier boat having real good brakes... But for my driving style I can easy warm up my brakes

And 6pot, that's some strange gearing our vantage s would probably be high in the revs of 3rd if it even would do that speed in 3rd

I would hazard a guess that that's a theoretical maximum based on gearing.

Not sure what box ratios 6-Pot is planning on running.

I would also hazard a guess, it probably wouldn't achieve quite those figure until it gets a blower as the aerodynamic properties of the Defender is about as good as a brick! The biggest obstacle is itself. So it'd need the extra clout of the Supercharger to get that down!

Though saying that, I'm not sure of the tuning capacity that a stock LS3 has in it!

likeomg, which Vantage S do you have and what box ratios does that run?

Well that serves me right for relying on my brain now I am home the correct ish numbers are
1st 59 MPH @ 6500 RPM
2nd 80
3rd 112
4th 138
5th 164
6th 230

I think it will do 3rd and mayby 4th?. A nice quiet 75 to 80 MPH is what it will be doing most though. Not worked out by me but given to me by Rakeway.

Cheers Rob
