If you have a remap it may well have been configured for optimum performance on a standard vehicle. I was informed by Autologic that an aftermarket exhaust or intercooler can possibly make your remap incompatable! I have heared of others decatting and subsequently reverting back as their engine ran like a bag of spanners? Maybe Pete from BAS or someone else 'in the know' may wish to elaborate! Hi K9F,
It was Pete Bell who advised me to leave the decat if the engine was running smoothly already which it was and still is. Given this advice I went for the Allisport intercooler and the Twisted side exit exhaust system from the cat back. I also asked Pete about compatability with his remap and was assured that the mods I made would simply help the map to do it's job better. Thus far I have yet to stop smiling, it has a load more low to mid range grunt and fairly growls out of the exhaust under load!! I have left the decat issues to be resolved between Allisport and BAS for the time being and hope to see a solution before long - it's not impossible of course that the issue will only present itself in one or a few cars, but I am happy to take the advice of more learned people than me! |

Me too! I have found this site invaluable and enjoy trying to constructively contribute as do 98% of everyone else! Warranty up in May will then seek an alternative exhaust sytem myself then too!
