£8.3m Fuel stolen from Nck Glegs's Kent residence
Just read on BBC's website that Thieves have siphoned millions of pounds of fuel from a pipeline which runs under Deputy PM Nick Clegg's official country residence in Kent.

Esso's South East pipeline from Fawley Refinery in Essex runs throgh the deputy prime minister land

It is reported that 30,000 litres of fuel a day were stolen over seven months, with a value of £8.3m at the pumps.

So where was the fuel going and what have the thieves done with it?

How come Esso didn't notice it was being siphoned off?

Also I would think that Clegg has Police and special branch security at his homes how come they did not notice someone digging up his land and using heavy plant machinery to tap into the pipe and then pump it out into tankers, makes you think perhaps they are not bothered what goes on.

I dont think the pipe that was tapped into was in their back yard...its just a headline grabber. But yes...how on earth didnt they notice....and they still posted billions of pounds of profit made from us users. Maybe they maek so much thats why they didnt notice. Try putting in £10.01p at the pump....they wont let you off they penny for sure!!!

Yes, but one petrol station I know of is £1.38 (bloody neigh) the other £1.33 all with in a 3 mile area.
It'd be interesting to have a thread here to see who's diesel costs what where.

Add 12p a litre and that is what you'll pay in Caithness. 2007 (57) Defender 90 (Sold)
Looking for another to replace it.

The road less travelled.... is a muddy one!
