Lightforce 170 Striker HID switch - newbie
Good evening all,

I'm after some advice as to what I can use to switch on my new lights for my 06 TD5 90xs.
After recently purchasing a pair of Lightforce 170s and the lightforce wiring loom (incl little black rocker switch) I am wondering if I could purchase the defender aux light (light2) switch and use this to switch the lights on and off or will it not work with the lights?
Appologies if this is a FAQ or doesn't make much sense but I am a newbie to defenders.
Any help greatly appreciated
Thanks
Alex

You don't have to have a switch for front mounted lights only roof lights unless you actually want one.

I'd ideally like one really.

Fair enough, I use mine on main beam controlled by the stalk.
Indeed I know the switch you have in mind. Quite expensive at around £55 now I think.
Dingocroft do them iirc

I wondered about doing the same, but I thought it'd be good to still be able to run just the normal headlights.
Yea I'm lead to believe it's expensive, I've seen them for £59 I think.

You can use the heated seat switch as a compromise (they were £14 when I got one)

Same just without the picture, I just replaced the cap with a blank

Yes switch is expensive, had the same issue with mine. Eventually bought the correct switch from Dingo. Had Devon 4x4 do the basic wiring on the dash to a new auxiliary fuse box. I then wired the light to the fuse box.

The difficulty Is wiring the negative switced side of the switch to accessory, unless your an auto electrician !
