Wales 2007 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 DCPU Zambezi Silver
Single rear seat
I'd like to remove the rear seats in my 110 DCPU and replace them with a single seat in the centre.

The idea being I'll gain extra storage in the rear and the little one can sit in the middle and be able to see out of the front.

Has anyone ever done this? Could it be done and keep within regulations etc?

Just an idea as I'm sat in the airport planing the next trip.

Any ideas more than welcome

Seat belt mounting points? What are the regulations about them? Do they need 'type approval' etc?

Single seat in the middle would not give you as much extra storage space as you may think as you need access to the seat.

You mention 'little one'. How little? Need assistance with seat belt etc when tired?

We sometimes remove the middle row double seat and put fridge in. That leaves middle single outer seat for passenger giving a good mix of storage and passenger carrying without any worries about passenger safety.

Just remember anything stored in passenger compartment should either be soft, I.e. Bedding or securely stored. A lump hammer around back of head will hurt!
