Machynlleth Horseshoe (B@stard Lane). My fav extreme lane
This was by far the most challenging lane of the whole weekend and why it gets its own film. If you never do another lane then you should get to Machynlleth. An awesome stretch covering every kind of terrain you can imagine with a half dozen really tricky sections that will really test you. The stone step and the sleeper axle twist being the one’s most likely to catch you out.

I had been panicking about getting back up the stone step having failed so badly last time I did this lane but as it happens all I needed was more power so the TDCi’s bit of on-board electrickery could sort me out.

I hope you all enjoy this one as much as I did driving it.

Good vid - with some moments! Smile

Then I had a look at your 'extreme lean land rover tilting @ Nant-y-Moch' video driving up Pen Cerrig - pretty alarming as well. It's my favourite lane which I drove many times - but I last drove it in 2005 before NERC.

Sorry mate, I'm confused which one you're talking about? Do you mean the lane you show in the picture in you're post? Check out my YouTube channel for green laning and Land Rover "how to" videos.

I believe it to be a UCR or a BOAT. In fairness it wasn't my route and I have had a few other people say something similar but then others call that into question suggesting it's regularly driven. It certainly showed signs it was in regular use.

What makes you think its restricted now so I can go and double check with the route planner for that trip? Check out my YouTube channel for green laning and Land Rover "how to" videos.
