I think my Goodwinch TDS winch needs a bit of TLC after the wet winter.
I have done a search on here and Google and can find very little, if any, information. More than happy to do the work as I am pretty competent mechanically and electrically so really looking for any pointers, gotcha's or even a guide on what to do. I have the grease, Ramonol Advanced Marine Grease, on it's way. Anything else I should consider getting in advance ? Had a look on the site but it seems all over the place
I think the team that did the Glasgow 2014 site have been at it

You may need a few gaskets but other than that thats about it unless you upgrade to a bow 2

Eventually got to the 'real' Goodwinch site via a torturous route using Yell.com !

Maybe a phone call will reveal the info you need. I have been thinking about getting my 12000 winch serviced as well, so would be interested in the outcome. 1999 Defender TD5 110

I am told that it only takes a couple of hours to do the work but want to make sure I have the parts I am likely to need ready - it may be called into service again next bank holiday. Don;t know if you know David Lovejoy? (Nonimouse on various forums), what he doesn't know about winches isn't worth knowing, and he's down your neck of the woods... J23 M5

I don't David L but have heard the name somewhere ? Just spoken to Dave B at Goodwinch. He advised me to strip the winch first and then see if I needed any parts, he thought that at most I may need a couple of gaskets. He gave me loads of advice on what needed to be done and , more importantly, told me NOT to strip the brake system down as they are a real pain to set up. Excellent service from Dave and he added that he or one of his staff would help me over the phone if I have issues.
