Axle stands
I am after a set of axle stands for occasional use. I am wary of cheap rachet types, but don't want to spend a fortune. Has anyone tried the Sealey folding ones? I am thinking asf2000 or asf3000. these are not too pricey and won't take up a lot of room. I also need something that will do the Subaru as well so don't want anything maaasive!

if you want to get under land rover while on stands I would not go for folding , the legs are very thin metal and I have seen one buckle

I have been under a land rover laying flat on my back when a land rover (discovery) somehow went side ways and came off the axle stands , it was on four stands but were at full extension , the gearbox cross member bounced down as it landed on the floor just touching my chest ,luckily all 4 wheels were still on it , if no wheels it would have been a different story
it was one of them moments went it all seems to move slowly and you think "mmm is this it "

yes they were folding ones but heavy duty ones

my advice is go for solid ones with a wide base and longer then you need , and don't go full extension (it makes the stem loose in the tubes

I bought 3 ton ratchet stands off the bayE for about £20 delivered, but you can get the same generic ratchet stands in Costco fer £20. Pov.spec,ftw. 2006, 110,TD5.

Is that 3 tonnes each stand or for the pair?

I got mine from SGS and they are well made and have been using them recently to swap the springs over. _______________________________
