I'm pretty sure that both modular and LR steel wheels are centred by the tapered nuts. Darren

I'd have said that the OEM HD steel wheels were hub centric. When mounted there is lateral/rotational movement around the wheelstuds and this is taken out by the taped seats of the nuts tightening into the wheel.

Hub centric wheels are a lot closer fit on the hub than LR steels. They're centred by the tapered nuts. Darren
