How much play in turbo spindle?
Hi .. I've been busy changing the turbo gasket this morning. Whilst it was all apart I felt some side to side play in the turbo spindle. Is this normal? 2008 Defender 110 XS SW - M57N2 / 6HP28X

Have a good look down the intake if all the blades look ok and corners are sharp all`s well you will get a small amount of end float its normal.
If you really want to check it remove the output hose on the pressure side or where access permits give everything a wipe rev it up a few times to purge system.
Hold a sheet of white paper in front of output pipe about six niches away or so, rev it to 3000 rpm for a few seconds if your turbos passing excessive oil it will be blasted all over the paper, no oil good turbo if it looks like its been shot by a spray can turbo nackard easy and cheap test may put engine management light on for boost fault.
