Spots / Lightbar
Hi,
I have a new Defender 110XS Station Wagon and want to add some additional lighting, either spots or perhaps an LED lightbar, to the front of the vehicle to give me some decent night driving light. I've been in contact with various suppliers of lights and mounts but still cannot find something that is both legal for road use and fits the bill. Ideally I'd like to mount to the front grill / bumper area rather than a roof bar as the wiring will be easier to keep neat and tidy. As it's a brand spanking new vehicle the last thing I want to do is bodge up the first thing I can find that fits.
I think it would be great to have an LED lightbar mounted just above the bumper but I'm concerned that (a) this wont be legal, and (b) it will protrude too far out from the front of the vehicle. I've tried to get some dimensions of the lightbars on offer so I can check exactly where to fit to the bumper but have not had any luck.
Can anyone out there give me some advice??
Question

Lazer Lamp ST4 are E marked and will be road legal if wired through main beam switch. Look here

If you bumper mount them you can angle them out slightly to get an extremely good spread of light. We have them fitted t our black 110

Thanks Brendan. They would certainly look good on the front of my 110 (also black). Did you wire them up yourself using a bought wiring harness?

Wired them up ourselves from scratch if I remember correctly:oops:

We do have the wiring harnesses in stock but not on website

Am pretty sure we have some genuine LR auxiliary light switches which fit into the spare blank switches in bottom of centre console. Genuine LR light switches are more expensive then some of the other LR switches, don't ask me why!

Would definitely prefer genuine LR switches so they don't look out of place but when I looked at the dash yesterday I did not think I had any spare switch blanks as they are all taken up with the accessories they now put on the XS model......might well be mistaken so I will check again this evening and try to choose which way to go.

I'll get back to you Brendan.
