Scotland 1989 Defender 90 Other HT Epsom Green
Finally got it sorted. Acquired a Disco 1 motor from EBay for £1.04 + £10 carriage.
My wiring loom is: solid green, red/green, brown/green and black. The wiper motor had a twin earth cable and a separate sleeve with : black, white and brown.
After some trial and error I got it to work using a cable connector as a temporary measure. The correct wiring is shown in the attached photo. The loom brown/green wire was not needed and was taped up. The cable connector will be replaced with an Econoseal plug/socket.
Fitting the motor was really easy. I simply reversed the motor's attached bracket and it fitted firmly against the door frame. One pop rivet was all that was needed to secure it. The existing wiper arm fitted - no bodging needed.

United Kingdom 1989 Defender 110 2.5 TD CSW Buckingham Blue
Hi all, new to the forum and looking for help! Resurrecting this thread as I'm also putting a disco1 rear wiper motor in my 1989 110, I've copied what Ksblair has done and alls well, the motor works fine until the shaft touches the metal of the door then it blows its fuse! Should that shaft be insulated from the door? Any help appreciated matt
