Mushroom top replacement
Hi guys,

I am looking for a replacement mushroom top for my snorkel which has rusted. The problem I have is that my mushroom top seems to be a completely different size to the replacement ones I have seen for sale. The pipe running up my windscreen has an outside diameter of 71mm, inside diameter of 64mm. It has a rubber gasket which fits around the outside diameter which increases the outside diameter to 77mm.

My current mushroom top fits over the pipe, snugly on to the gasket. It has an outside diameter of 81-82mm and inside diameter of 77-78mm.

The only replacement mushroom tops I have seen have an inside diameter of circa 64mm? This would indicate that a replacement would need to fit inside my pipe – is this correct?

Unfortunately it has no brand on it. It was fitted to the 90 when I got it. I can only assume its a "no brand"? 2007 Defender 90 XS

If the replacement are only 64mm not only would you have to sleeve it to the extent of 13mm but you would also have to seal it to prevent moisture ingress too. Stick up a photo and someone may be able to help from seeing it and recognising the make.

Here is a picture I took a few days ago:

As you can see there is a rubber gasket between the mushroom top and the pipe which runs up the windscreen. The mushroom top sits over the rubber gasket, and has a sleeve which tightens around both with a bolt.

I can take more pictures if it will help? 2007 Defender 90 XS
