Washer nozzle
I snapped my washer nozzle today while changing the windscreen rubber, the black plastic bit with the 2 small direct-able jets, does that mean that I have to replace the whole jet or just push another one into it?
I've been told that to fit a new one I have to remove part of the dash to get it to fit, is that correct?

I have been told of two ways of doing this job.

One- Told by a LR Tech, Heat up the new one in a bowl of water to remove the end any then place it onto the part stuck on the bulkhead. Apparently its two part.

Two- Remove the dash top and do it from there, Its easier with two people as one can hold steady from the outside whilst the other one places the nut on the back of the washer jet, Removing the top of the dash is not as tricky as people make out and can be done in 10-20 mine. Its a frustrating little job though.

Cheers

If you've got the time and the inclination it might be an idea to consider this; http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic11649....washer+mod

Thanks for the replies, I managed to get one at the Donington show today for £4 so I'll have a go at fitting it later. Cheers

The tip I got from and Inde was to super glue it back together. Don't make old people mad.
We don't like being old in the first place,
so it doesn't take much to Censored us off.

Mine was also broken and I glued it together as it was friday evening before an offroad weekend. And it worked and it is still not replaced. Roel

Mine too kept becoming dislodged on a frequent basis. The base only has a small contact area with the nozzle. To increase the contact area I sealed a flat rubber washer over the base and then subsequently sealed the nozzle back on, it gave a much sturdier foundation for the nozzle itself to be supported on.
