Faith in Independent Land Rover garages
Started getting a noise like a loose exhaust on the way home in the dark last night-blowing a gale so checked this morning at 9am after I had driven to work, and when it got light.

Shock horror-off side Shock absorber dangling in fresh air, no chance of getting replacement on a Saturday, so leave work to get it home and do temporary repair until I can get it fixed on Monday.

On the way home I swung by my Local Independent garage on the off chance there may be someone working, and 'Lo and behold' the owner was there doing some work-thinking I could pick up a new shock (Terrafirma) and fit myself-no chance-vehicle in, up on jack, old shock off, new shock fitted quick chat and back at my desk by 1035am

Thank God for these people Very Happy

Shame more people don't have the same attitude. Some people think independents are put to rip you off or don't provide as good a service as a main dealer, when in fact it is usually the other way round! Good news either way for you Thumbs Up

Interesting....Was it these in the post below? I spoke to the owner some time ago as I visit another retail unit Index Marine just across from them but haven't had the need or opportunity to use them yet!

No it was Andy at AL Services, who is in Willis Way

Although Tony who is LRB used to work for AL services, so I do know both of them I do my thing and you do yours. I am not in this world to live up to your expectations, and you are not in this world to live up to mine
