Just received my SKYTAG!!
I just collected my SKYTAG's (Cheers FCX) one for the Defender, and the other for the new caravan.

Could someone PM me some ideas about where to fit it in the Defender, and whilst we are at it, the caravan. The caravan seems easier because there are lots of hidden areas I can access. Defender is a bit more challenging.

Cheers

I'm looking at getting one of these as well but I'm worried about where I can hide it and how to fit it.. I'm no mechanic really and don't want to spend the money if it isn't effective. If anyone can also pm me with how to fit it and where it would be appreciated.

Many thanks

Hi Tiger,

Yes, I understand. All I can do is assure you that I'm legitimate and not a criminal but I know that doesn't count for a lot.

Thanks anyway.

anybody tried the snooper tracker
can be hard wired or rechargeable so you could use it in diffirent vehicle battery can last 72 hours.
its pay as you go ,no monthly charges
you can text it and it texts you back its position then look it up on google earth .
handy if you park up somewhere for the day .text it and get position then if it changes later you know something is wrong .

with skytag don't you have to ring police when you find it missing then ring skytag and they track it,, that's alright if you know its missing , could be hours or days before you find it gone

Hi Gareth .. I think that people are going to be reluctant to disclose where to hide it. However, I would speak to the people at Skytag for some suggestions. 2008 Defender 110 XS SW - M57N2 / 6HP28X

You report the loss to Skytag and they inform the police, it gets taken on between the two straight away and the police get immediate access to track it. Your own access gets blocked though at this point to stop any involvement by the owner for security reasons.

Yes, it's called live track as far as I am aware, best of phoning really. I've never used it because it costs extra but the basic subscription does the job of protecting you and gives you monthly updates to tell you it's working correctly. Diesel$ Live$ Matter. ⛽️🛢️👨‍🔧🧰⚙️ RED, WHITE & BOOST! 🇬🇧

Thanks for all the suggestions, most welcome, and most devious! I have it fitted now. Took me an hour including soldering some connections and making my own loom up. Dead easy.

I phone up Skytag to activate it, and the whole process was simple. They tested the unit, and to my astonishment, they told me where I was, to within about 6 feet!

I have opted for the Liveview, which does give me live tracking on my computer or wifi device. I can also setup geofences for immediate alert if it moves, as required, for a small fee. Ideal if I am going on holiday, or business and the Defender is staying at home, or wherever I say I am leaving it (airport carpark or example)

Tomorrow, I will fit the caravan with one. 2021 Defender 110 X-Dynamic HSE D300 MHEV
