Scotland 2016 Defender 90 Puma 2.2 Landmark LE Santorini Black
Armstrong Massey, Bilbrough Nr York
Just had the engine management light come on 360 miles from home and the engine power disappear. Found out that we were a few miles away from Armstrong Massey dealership. We managed to get there late in the afternoon and although busy they managed to get the vehicle into the workshop in half an hour. Diagnosed the EGR and changed it out. Back on the road again an hour later. Seems like a good crowd.

Inchcape acquire Armstrong Massey Land Rover
"Dealer group giant, Inchcape plc has acquired the £44 million turnover, Yorkshire based, Land Rover dealership Armstrong Massey for an undisclosed sum."

http://www.motortradenews.com/news/automot...rover.html

I think it's been in the offing for a little while.

Inchcape have the Hunters LR main dealers in their portfolio, with 7 branches before the York location:

Preston
Chester
Derby
Kings Lynn
Norwich
Guildford
Southampton

As one of the leading franchised retailer groups in the UK, partnering many of the Worlds best brands including:
Audi
BMW
Jaguar
Land Rover
Lexus
Mercedes-Benz
Mini
Porsche
Smart
Toyota
Volkswagen

Nice story behind the company name:

"The Inchcape lighthouse lies 11 miles out to sea off the East coast of Arbroath, Scotland. It stands on one of the most treacherous submerged reefs in the northern hemisphere and is one of the seven wonders of the Industrial Age. Thanks to the pioneering spirit of a young engineer, Robert Stevenson, who dreamed of building the impossible, a lighthouse was planned on the 'Rock' that had claimed over 100 lives. Despite many obstacles, Stevenson never lost faith in his plan, and by February 1811, the lighthouse on Inchcape Rock was finished. It is the oldest, sea-standing lighthouse in the world and today, still saves lives. 100 years later, inspired by this pioneering spirit, Inchcape's founder James Lyle MacKay, when awarded a title for his services to industry became the first 'Baron Inchcape of Strathnaver' and so named the company that he led."
