Looks like we will follow this well trodden route. Had hoped it saw more of the national park and smuggler routes but still looks stunning. 1951 80" S1 2.0

Parts of it was but we have adapted it so that it takes in Andorra ( smugglers route) and the high point where the camper van is (2650m).

We are off to Spain in a couple of weeks, travelling from Santander with Duquesa, near Gib as the final destination.
We intent to go via the Pyrenees, following, in reverse, the trail mentioned at the start of this topic leaving it just West of Andorra then dropping down via Granada to Malaga then Duquesa.

Does anyone know of any GPX files that can help us with a (mainly) off road route?

Thanks,

Chris 2010 Defender 110 Station Wagon, Santorini Black.

I was just about to start a topic on this trip ! We are leaving in two weeks time. I have ordered the road book from Vibraction https://www.vibraction.org/road-books/espagne/road-book-5/ which I plan to follow.

Your photos look excellent.

Will read back through the thread and then ask some more questions.

Hi all,

Does anyone know if there is a similar road book in English for the Pyrenees and / or also the southern alps, i.e. one that takes in the old military route. Planning on going next year, so plenty of time to sort things,

Cheers

Andy

Is that book really 95 euros? I might have read the site wrong.... 1951 80" S1 2.0

Yep, that's how I read it, €95, that's why I'm asking other members, and looking round myself. I can't afford the Book and the French lessons I'll need to go with it Laughing Laughing

95€ might sound a high price, but, you are paying for the fact that someone has taken their time to go out and plot the route into a format that needs no maps,is realy easy to follow,(even though its in French)as it is mainly pictoral.
There is also information on locations of campsites, hotels, fuel stations etc, etc.
I rate roadbooks very highly.Especialy the ones Vibraction produce.
Just my tuppence worth. Thumbs Up
Marc.

Hello Marc,

Thanks for the reply. If it's really that good, and includes everything you say, with campsites etc, it sounds just right. Cost shared between 3 vehicles isn't too bad either. Do you know if there is one available for the Southern Alps ?

Cheers
Andy
