2.2 oil usage
Just a quick question out of interest.

I have a 2014 2.2 90 which has now done 6000km.

The service interval over here is 20000km.

I checked the levels today and the oil level is about 2/3rds of the way down the allowable range on the dipstick.

At that rate it will only make around 9000 k's before its low on oil, which is no where near the official service interval (not that I would wait until 20000 anyway!)

What sort of oil usage are people seeing with the 2.2's?

cheers

Mine has done just under 10k doesn't seem to have used any oil.

Where was the level on the dipstick when you picked it up?

Thanks. Pretty sure it was dead on full parked at the same point on the drive. Engine had been off for a few hours both times.

No visible leaks. 2001 90 HT 6.0LS/6spdAuto.

Hi Pickles, My 2013MY 110 Utility used about 1/4 of the oil level on the dipstick over the first 6000miles (I then changed the oil myself) and since then has used no oil between 6000 miles services (Currently on 16000 miles).... I would expect this is a normal amount of usage with a new motor?...

Cheers

Those modern engines should not be using any oil whatsoever.

You should have it seen to asap. --

It has a leak... Its from somewhere on the passenger (LH) side of the engine above the PS pump.
Dealer has cleaned it up, refilled oil and wants it back in 1000k's 2001 90 HT 6.0LS/6spdAuto.

When I picked mine up they told me the new engine will use a little oil and gave me 1 litre with a natty zip up bottle cover. Too early to say how it is going. Cheers, Guy.

Odd that the 2.2 is expected to use oil but not the 2.4?

I've now done close to 56,000km and not a single drop of oil used Thumbs Up --
