Electrical issue
Last friday I drove through a rainstorm resulting in dashboard light failing.
Last night I opened the numberplate light, cleaned it and taped it just to make sure, becouse I'll be replacing it first chance I get. I also replaced fuse 18 and tested if everything worked by turning the lights on an off, which it did.

This morning after driving about 10m, main lights go out and smoke in the cabin. Needless to say I turned everything off.

After some quick testing the dashboard lights, left small light, numberplate light and left tail light still work. Dashbutton lights are out as well as main beam. Did not look at the back for fear of smoke.
When turning on the lights with the lever I noticed that just before the last click everything works but when pushed further the button lights an main beam are out again.

So I suspect a short circuit in the lights lever???

Took out the fuse 18 for safety.

Anyone had something similar and can tell me what eventually was the problem/solution?

Turned out to be a short circuit by burned through light wire.
