OK I've got a price from one supplier, just trying to get another however if we're doing a forum group by I'd prefer to go through leeds as he's a forum sponsor (and by all accounts a nice chap) Smile

Have you contacted Startech directly? When I contacted the uk retailers I found they could not offer a price to that of Startech.

As per the group but thread I started and had no success with, Startech offered the wheel at 490 Euro and at today's exchange rate, that is £413. Perhaps if there was 5 others buying, could become £400.

I was under the impression that the Startech wheel didn't need a boss as it was a straight swap for the original? I thought that was one of its' selling points Confused Darren

As above.

When you price up a momo wheel recovered in leather together with a boss it comes to a similar price as the Startech.

I know where my money would go.

At the official exchange rate yes 490 euros is about £413 but it is highly likely that your bank will only give you about 1.15 euro to the pound which then puts the cost at £426 rather then headline figure of 1.186 euro to the £ this morning

Then there is the bank charges which depends on the bank and can be anything between say £4-£17

So depending on your bank etc those 490 euros could cost you around £430-443 possibly more.

The actual cost would depend on the exact moment in time that the bank executed your instructions!

Guess how we know Razz

Could be wrong but I get the impression from the Startech website that it is vehicle specific?

'STARTECH leather sport steering wheel, colour: black, incl. Land Rover logo and steering wheel cover (vehicle information required), special colour on request'

I have also read previously on this forum that the wheel is 'direct fitment' - Does anyone know for sure Question 2013 Defender 90 HT

And the winner is.....????

Then, as to the question about the boss.... Yes, the ST steering wheel needs a boss. When I bought mine several years ago from them, the price was for the steering wheel, including the boss (in my case a 48 spline, make sure if you are not certain that you check if you have a 36 or a 48 spline by taking off your existing steering wheel Exclamation ), and the black LR logo.
If you look at my post with the sideways picture view of the ST steering wheel earlier in this thread, you can make out part of the boss. Mind, the ST steering wheel installed brings the wheel about 3 cm further toward you, so 3 cm further inside the cab. So you will have to get used to the turn signal stalk being a bit further away to reach than with the original LR steering wheel. After a week or so you get used to that. Thumbs Up

Edit: (additional comment) I believe that the ST steering wheel comes standard as black leather with white stitching. If you need a different color stitching, don't forget to specify that. Not sure which colors stitching ST all offer.

And......... tomorrow UPS will deliver two more items I ordered from ST last week. Will post pictures in a few weeks after they have been riveted on..... Whistle Whistle Whistle You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation.

This is the Raid steering wheel fitted to our white 90 which is made exclusively for Nakatanenga.

Now Nakatanenga do a range of Raid steering wheels which can be found here Best viewed in Chrome

Ours is model SLRLDEFWHON fitted with the Land Rover centre hub.

If people would like to pm with what steering wheel they would like, preferably with what boss is required 48 or 36 spline, Land Rover centre hub or not, aluminium ring, silver or black or none.

That way I can work out prices. Have managed to start to twist that strong Germanic arm and it is given a little bit. However I will know exactly what people required before working out prices. So get those pm's in within say a week!
